Locrin Stewart—Novelty Re-edit

Here's the re-edit of my novelty. I adjusted my tone curve, made the paper whiter (actually brought some true whites into it), straightened it out and cleaned up a wee bit of dust from the table (may not have been visible in the first image I posted, but I noticed it).

Additional thoughts?

  1. The changes you made between your initial submission and this definitely showed lots of improvement. My primary suggestion (in the case that you were to reshoot) would be to experiment with a more abstract use of calligraphy. "HA" immediately makes me think of laughter, and I think this piece has more meaning than just a chuckle - I wish what was written or drawn wasn't so... ahhh you get it !

  2. I don't know. I like the ha, simply because knowing locrin for some reason makes me think that it's a sarcastic remark (and i don't mean that in any negative manner - i'm a major pro-sarcasm!) i agree that it has definitely improved - however, I almost would like to see the pad askew - but properly skewed; i think in the original upload it was enough to annoy the eye but not enough to do anything else. nice idea!
